Researcher biography

Tianze is currently a PhD candidate researching adolescent substance use on unceded Jagera & Turrbal land at the University of Queensland. Her PhD ranges from harm reduction strategies and the influence of social media on substance use to electronic cigarettes and tobacco. Her research methods include social media data mining and secondary analysis of nationally representative surveys. Tianze’s primary interest is to evaluate public health policies to minimise harm in the context of youth substance use.

Tianze completed her Bachelor of Psychological Science with first class honours in 2019 and currently holds a Research Training Program Stipend and a Research Higher Degree Top Up Scholarship.
